Tagging is a function within Leganto to inform the Reserves Team and your students of your preferences regarding a given item. The tagging function appears once an item has been added to your reading list.
There are two types of tags:
Adding a Tag to Your Citation
1. Click the box next to the citation to open editing options.
2. Click Tags.
3. Click Add Tag and select the course reserves tag.
4. Click the Save button.
Course Reserve tags communicate to the Mason Reserves Team how you would like us to process items meant for either physical or electronic reserve.
Physical Reserves - 2 Hours | Items with this tag will be processed to have a 2-hour loan period. |
Physical Reserves - media - 4 Hours | Media Items with this tag will be processed to have a 4-hour loan period. |
Physical Reserves - 1 Day | Items with this tag will be processed to have a 1-day loan period. |
Physical Reserves - 3 Days | Items with this tag will be processed to have a 3-day loan period. |
Physical Reserves - 7 Days | Items with this tag will be processed to have a 7-day loan period. |
Reserves Purchase Order | Items with this tag will indicate to the Mason Reserves Team to investigate the possibility of the Libraries' purchasing this item for Course Reserves. The Mason Reserves Team will communicate with the instructor about any obstacles to obtaining the material. |
Digitization Request | Items with this tag will indicate to the Mason Reserves Team to investigate the possibility of the Libraries' digitizing this material for electronic reserves if copyright allows. The Mason Reserves Team will communicate with the instructor about any copyright concerns. |
Mason Square Library-Arlington | Items with this tag will be processed to be placed on Reserve at this location. |
Mercer Library-Prince William | Items with this tag will be processed to be placed on Reserve at this location. |
Fenwick Library-Fairfax | Items with this tag will be processed to be placed on Reserve at this location. |
Course Reading tags communicate to your students how to prioritize their readings.
Required | Communicates to students that this reading is required. |
Recommended | Communicates to students that this reading is recommended. |
Essential | Communicates to students that this reading is essential. |
Optional | Communicates to students that this reading is optional. |
Lecture Readings | Communicates to students that this is a reading is important for understanding the upcoming lecture. |
