Local Government

States are divided into local political units including counties, municipalities, towns, townships, and more. There are many types of local government that impact our daily lives. It is important to know which locality (or localities) you are a part of, because you pay taxes and these representatives make decisions about property, schools, transportation, commerce, waste, and so much more.
