Depending on your research topic, you may want to go beyond psychology focused databases. Here are a few suggestions:
The point of searching for an article is being able to read the ones that you want. Often, Google Scholar searches publisher websites that ask for money to view an article.
University Libraries might have an article, but not at the publisher website. Setting up library links with Google Scholar will display links to University Libraries.
Note: If you sign into Google Scholar, it will remember your settings
To find journals articles on your topic of interest, you'll want to use databases. However, knowing the titles of major psychology journals will make your research very effective. For example, if your search results in over hundreds result, knowing which journals are prominent in the field will help make your selection much easier.
Also, instead of relying solely on search to find articles, you may want to browse a few major journals regularly to keep up with what studies are newly published in psychology.
