Resources and tips for finding, analyzing, and citing images in your classroom, personal, or professional work

Images for Creative Re-Use

If you're working on an artistic or creative project (whether for personal or professional/commercial uses), you may want to find images to remix, collage, or repurpose in other ways.

These sites provide public domain or creative commons images, but be sure to verify the images' copyright status or license terms before using in your non-classroom or academic project.

Commercial Use: Stock Photos, Textures, or Backgrounds

If you're working on a professional or commercial project -- that is, you expect to sell or make money from your project -- look for images in the public domain or that offer free, commercial-use licenses for their images. These are great for blogs, backgrounds, and other stock purposes!
