Download an Excel spreadsheet with country-level statistics yearly since 1815 on a variety of demographic, social, political, and economic topics. Great to compare across time or country.
International Historical Statistics
Published collection of statistical data by country, covering a wide range of socio-economic topics from 1750 to 2010. Data is in PDF and Excel (Supplementary Material) by region (Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania).

North Atlantic Population Project:
Census microdata from Canada, Great Britain, Germany, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the United States from 1801 to 1910.

Population Reference Bureau Resource Library
Contains statistics on 133 population, health, and environment variables for the United States and more than 220 countries, 28 world regions and sub-regions, and the world as a whole. (Not all countries have data on all variables.)

International Database

For Polls and Public Opinion, all listed sources include international data.

2. Each region typically has a “Barometer” organization that conducts opinion polling.
