How to Find International Information

  1. Start with the “ Start Here” tabs – they link to broad, global data sources.
  2. For Polls and Public Opinion, all listed sources include international data.
    1. Global polls often cover most countries.
    2. Each region typically has a “Barometer” organization that conducts opinion polling.
  3. Check the special sources on the current page–one may match your topic or need.
  4. International Orgs are a great starting point, even for country-specific questions.
    1. They offer country profiles, datasets, and user-friendly data tools.
    2. For topic- or region-specific data, see the UN Statistics Division’s list of International Agency Partners
  5. If needed, explore Regional Orgs for more localized data
  6. Finally, check the Country Data page for profiles or the country's national statistics office. .
    1. Countries usually publish a statistical yearbook or abstract.
