MUSI 662: Introduction to Research in Music

Find Composer's Collected Works

Many composers’ complete works have been published in a single scholarly edition (called a collected edition). To find scholarly editions, do the following:

1. Go Mason Library Homepage

2. Click on "Advanced Search."

3. Select "Author/Creator and type in the composer's name.

    In the next row, select "Title" and type "Works." (You can also try these foreign alternatives: Werke,  Samtliche Werke,  Gesamtausgabe (German); Opere (Italian); Oeuvres (French)."

     In the next row, select "Call Number" and type "M3." (Collected works are found in the M3 section of the library.)

To Locate Individual Works in Scholarly Editions, conduct a search in the Index to Printed Music:
