The geographic visualization will open with a global view. The top menu includes the visualization method, project name, document count, date range, and export data.
To export the metadata for geographic analysis, click the export data button. You can export the GeoJSON or a CSV format. The metadata will download to your computer in a zip file.
Click on a cluster or map marker. A drawer will open on the right hand side of the screen that includes the articles included in that cluster or marker. If you click on the title of an article, a new tab or window will open and you will be directed to the article itself. Click hide to close the drawer.
You can use the slider along the bottom of the map to change the date range. The map will update to reflect the new date range.
Topic Modeling
Topic modeling will open with ten topics. The top menu includes the visualization method, project name, document count, date range, and export data.
To export the metadata for topic modeling, click the export data button. The metadata will download to your computer in a zip file.
You can select the number of topics you want displayed using the dropdown menu. You can have five, ten, 25, or 50 topics displayed.
Each topic includes keywords and a graph showing the distribution of those keywords over the date range of the project. Each dot on the graph represents a specific point in time. If you click on a dot, a drawer will open on the right hand side that shows the top 50 articles included in that topic. If you click on the title of an article, a new tab or window will open and you will be directed to the article itself. Click hide in the upper right hand corner to close the drawer.
Sentiment Analysis
Sentiment analysis will open with nine emotions or affective states: anger, disgust, fear, sadness, happiness, love, surprise, neutral, and other. The top menu includes the visualization method, project name, document count, date range, and export data.
To export the metadata for sentiment analysis, click the export data button. The metadata will download to your computer in a zip file.
You can select which emotions you want displayed by checking the box next to each emotion.
Each emotion will be visualized by a line graph depicting its score throughout the corpus. Each dot on the graph represents a specific point in time. If you click on a dot, a drawer will open on the right hand side that shows the articles that scored highest for that emotion. If you click on the title of an article, a new tab or window will open and you will be directed to the article itself. Click hide in the upper right hand corner to close the drawer.
