Accounting Standards define and standardize the accounting methods used so that they are consistent from business to business, and in all industries. Without these standards, comparisons of financial success between companies would be difficult. The Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) are widely accepted and used by businesses.
Use the searches in this box to find standards from different organizations. To find out if the Mason Libraries own a copy, search the standard title (in quotes) using the search on the first page of this guide. Please note that standards can take a month or more to receive.
