NOVA Parks (as the organization came to be known in 2014) represents three counties and three cities -- Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, the City of Alexandria, the City of Falls Church and the City of Fairfax.

A community-based group of active paddlers and advocates of the Occoquan Water Trail (OWT), the Occoquan Watertrail League (OWL) assists in providing long-term stewardship of the trail.

The mission of the Virginia Environmental Endowment is to improve the quality of the environment by using its capital, expertise and resources to encourage all sectors to work together to prevent pollution, conserve natural resources, and promote environmental literacy.

This foundations fights for effective, science-based solutions to the pollution degrading the Chesapeake Bay and its rivers and streams.

The Chesapeake Bay Program is a multi-governmental cooperative partnership between Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, West Virginia, the Chesapeake Bay Commission, a tri-state legislative body, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The scientific findings and tools produced by the USGS are used by Chesapeake Bay partners to manage fish and wildlife, improve habitats, restore water quality, and conserve lands.
