State Organizations

Virginia Education Association
Established in 1863, VEA is a Union dedicated to advancing quality instruction and curriculum, adequate funding, and excellent working conditions for Virginia public employees.
Maryland State Education Association
MSEA is the 76,000-member Maryland affiliate of the National Education Association, which represents 3 million education employees across the country
Washington Teachers Union
The WTU is the collective bargaining unit for educators in DC Public Schools. Educators in other LEAs (ie, public charter schools) located in the District of Columbia are not eligible for WTU membership.

National Organizations

National Education Association (NEA)

American Federation of Teachers
The American Federation of Teachers is a union of professionals that champions fairness; democracy; economic opportunity; and high-quality public education, healthcare and public services for our students, their families and our communities
American Educational Research Association (AERA)
Strives to advance knowledge about education, to encourage scholarly inquiry related to education, and to promote the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.

International Organizations

International Curriculum Association
International Curriculum Association provides international curriculum and professional learning to schools and teachers around the world. We work with more than 15,000 teachers, in over 1000 schools, in 90+ countries globally.
Global Partnership for Education
Established in 2002, the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is comprised of close to 60 developing countries, donor governments, international organizations, the private sector, teachers, and civil society/NGO groups.
