A significant part of any sort of investigation into a conflict demands understanding the conflict and the significant parties thereof.
While many of us are going to be pushed into new formats and materials as a part of your undergraduate program, like the classic Peer-Reviewed Journal Scholarly Research Article, it isn't going to cover everything. The deeper dive to understand the histories, the context, the narratives, are going to demand a LOT more space. That means books.
For clarity, often this means reading select parts of a given book on a conflict or group involved in a conflict. You don't necessarily need to read entire texts on a given situation. But, that said, you may need to read sections from a wide range of books in order to have a solid understanding. No single author should be trusted when it comes to any conflict. Biases and perspective shape a great deal, and we are no exception.
Take the time to find a few books on your conflict and the groups involved!!
