Cultural Diversity and Interview Project
As our society grows older and more diverse, it is important to learn about diverse groups and the perspective of older adults. To further your learning on diverse groups in the U.S. and your insight into the oppression they have faced, you will interview or observe an interview of an older adult (aged 65+) from one of the following groups:
Objective: To focus on working with people who are older (gerontology) from non-dominant populations.
The assignment has three parts:
Instructions for Part 1:
After choosing a population, review the literature on the population, gather information about the estimated size of that population among adults who are 65 and older, and learn about important service issues and needs for older adults in this group. You should use at least one government source (1) and one (1) scholarly journal article. Summarized findings should include:
Search for information about older adults and conditions related to a social determinate of health
