The purpose of this InfoGuide is to provide comprehensive resources to support students, researchers, and anyone interested in learning more about this field. The guide offers a collection of curated resources relevant to generative artificial intelligence.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments about how to further improve the GenAI InfoGuide, please contact Dr. Heidi Blackburn.
For discipline specific research, some of the subject librarians have provided additional content for these areas. Please use the links below to access these resources.
Ever wondered if AI could speed up your research and make it easier? Mason Libraries, in partnership with VIVA (Virginia’s academic library consortium), is offering FREE trial access to two powerful AI research tools—Consensus and Scite—until February 12, 2026.vivalib+1
Consensus: Ask questions and get instant summaries from the latest research with a “Consensus Meter” showing agreement or debate among studies. Perfect for quickly finding reliable answers or exploring different viewpoints.
Scite: See not just who cited an article, but whether they supported or challenged the research. Scite Assistant also creates topic summaries with cited references, helping you review and analyze sources efficiently.
Note: This is a trial period only. Access to these tools beyond February 12, 2026, is not guaranteed, so try them while you can!
Explore both tools and access training on the Scholarly Resources – VIVA Trials LibGuide.
After trying the tools, please complete the short Consensus and Scite Evaluation Survey to help guide which resources Mason Libraries may subscribe to in the future.
