When searching the Library, it is highly recommended to use the ADVANCED SEARCH and then set Material Type to Book.
This will ensure you are only searching for books and e-books, cleaning up the initial search results to make further review less-bad.
When reviewing your results, be sure to look for SUBJECTS to more efficiently refine your search to key ideas, concepts, and other features more clearly than just adding more content to the search bars. Think hashtags (#) from social media, but less horrible and more robust and academic.
Use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) to request books, media and articles from other libraries when they are not available at Mason. Start your research early if you want to take advantage of this wonderful service as it can take up to 2 weeks.
You can use this form to request an item sent between our library locations in Fairfax, Arlington and Manassas.
