UNIV 100

Welcome

The University Libraries' Teaching & Learning Team is excited to partner with UNIV 100 faculty to support first-year students. Our trained librarians and instructional staff, some of whom are UNIV 100 faculty, focus on teaching undergraduate students how to critically evaluate information and conduct college-level research. We can help orient your UNIV 100 students to library spaces, services, and resources which are crucial to their success at Mason.

*Due to COVID-19, all fall 2020 and spring 2021 library sessions will be virtual. We are not offering any in-person instruction or tours.

Learning Outcomes

Instruction Goals:

  • To provide a physical orientation of the library (*to be conducted virtually during the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters).
  • To orient students to the library's website, particularly resources and information available from the homepage.
  • To help students feel comfortable using the library's spaces, services, and resources.

 Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will know how to communicate with a librarian in an academic setting.

  • Students will identify key service points and their functions at George Mason University Libraries.

  • Students will feel comfortable using George Mason University Libraries.
