What is Grey Literature?
"Grey literature" usually refers to policy notes, internal memos, datasets, statements, reports, and filings produced by an agency, institution, or scholarly organization. These materials are not published in the manner of scholarly journals or books, and do not undergo peer review; however, they can be an invaluable source of insight to an organization's policies, priorities, projects, and status.
Institutional websites and funding agency websites, like IMLS, are excellent resources for these kinds of materials, but you may have to dig deeper to find additional filings or sensitive data.
