ProQuest TDM Studio

A guide on how to access and use ProQuest TDM Studio

Topic Modeling

  1. Topic modeling will open with 10 topics. The top menu includes the visualization method; project name; the number of documents in the project; and date range.
  2. You can select the number of topics you want displayed using the dropdown menu. You can choose to have 5, 10, 25, or 50 topics displayed.
  3. Each topic includes keywords and a graph showing the distribution of those keywords over the date range of the project. Each dot on the graph represents a specific point in time. If you click on a dot, a drawer will open on the right hand side that shows the top 50 articles included in that topic. If you click on the title of an article, a new tab or window will open and you will be directed to the article itself. Click hide in the upper right hand corner to close the drawer.
  4. You can export your data by clicking the export data in the upper right hand corner. You will receive CSVs of the document metadata, document topics, topic words, and words.
