Guide for resources available in Mason Libraries in support of your project in scanning and digitizing.

Scanners Available in SCRC

Epson V850 Scanner (Two)

Supports:

  • 35mm slides to flat records 8.5”x11.7”small stand
  • Reflective and transmissive scanning capability
  • 48-bit color up to 6400 dpi

Best used for:

  • Limited quantities of flat documents
  • All transmissive material (slides, film

Small Copy Stand

Supports:small stand

  • flat documents and bound materials up to approx. 16”x24”
  • Reflective material only
  • Camera: Nikon D5600 (24.4 megapixels)

Best used for:

  • Large quantities of flat materials
  • Small bound materials (standard book size)

Large Copy Stand

Supports:

  • Flat documents and bound materials up to 26”x23”large
  • Reflective material only
  • Camera: Nikon D850 (45.7 megapixels)

Best used for:

  • Large quantities of flat documents,
  • larger flat material (beyond 11”x17”) 
  • Standard and larger size bound material

Oversize Copy Stand

Supports:Oversize

  • Flat maps, posters and large bound material
  • Reflective material only (not sure of the exact size it’s capable of)
  • Camera: Nikon D850 (45.7 megapixels) 

Best used for: Maps, posters, large broadsides
