Publisher & Vendor Support for Access to E-Resources in Response to COVID-19

Access to E-Textbooks

Please note that the Libraries are not able to facilitate setting up access to these titles for instructors or students. Each user needs to go through the process individually.

VitalSource

Beginning March 16 through May 25, 2020, access to an expansive catalog of eTexts will be available for free to students at semester-calendar institutions who have been impacted by recent campus closures. Students simply log in to the VitalSource Bookshelf app using their school email address and can then view course materials from participating publishers via VitalSource’s Explore capabilities within Bookshelf.

RedShelf

In collaboration with the academic publishing community, RedShelf is providing students with free access to their learning materials. RedShelf is providing students no-cost access to digital textbooks for the rest of the semester. Each student may access up to seven free eBooks, and access will run through May 25th, 2020.

Cenage

For US colleges experiencing unplanned, mid-semester impacts due to COVID-19, Cengage is offering students free access to all our digital platforms and 14,000 ebooks through Cengage Unlimited, for the remainder of this semester.

ScienceDirect (Elsevier) Textbooks
Available through mid-June.
The 256 textbooks currently on ScienceDirect will be automatically entitled to all active ScienceDirect customers for a period of 90 days. Title List.

Online Classroom Resouces & Tools

American Psychological Association: PsycLearn: Research Methods and PsycLearn: Introduction to Social Psychology
PsycLearn: Research Methods and PsycLearn: Introduction to Social Psychology is available for instructors to use with their students at no cost for the remainder of this semester. If you would like to use this material in your course, please send an email to psyclearn@apa.org.

Ebsco Faculty Select
EBSCO is offering a simplified version of Faculty Select that includes access to OER material as well as the option to discover more than 255,000 DRM-free EBSCO eBooks in one place, available at no charge for faculty to use through June 30, 2020. Macmillian Learning
Faculty and students are able to request free access to LaunchPad, Sapling, iClicker, or FlipIt for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester if you were not already using one of these digital products. Please search our catalog to see which digital product is available with your current Macmillan Learning textbook or course. If you wish to participate in this program, please contact your Macmillan Learning representative and ask for a “Class Test”. McGraw-Hill

Oxford University Press: Teaching Resources
Access to digital, course-specific resources that you can use to flesh out your online "lectures"—including videos, simulations, animations, activities, flashcards, quizzes, test banks, PowerPoints, and more—that can all be loaded directly into your LMS ; Instructions on how to access your desk copy as an eBook ; Free access for your students to OUP Higher Education eBooks for the balance of this term ; Free access to online courses from our sister company Epigeum to help you learn strategies for managing the digital classroom ; Webinars for teaching specific disciplines online.

Wiley Online Learning Solutions
Instructors without an adopted online learning solution, such as WileyPLUS, Knewton Alta or zyBooks, can receive free access for their students for the remainder of the Spring 2020 term. Instructors teaching at impacted institutions can request access to WileyPLUS or Knewton Alta here; instructors looking for zyBooks access can apply here. For current WileyPLUS and Knewton Alta instructors, Customer Success Specialists are equipped to provide additional support, including extension of due dates, adjusting assignments or increasing the capacity to work remotely. Wiley is also partnering with organizations, like VitalSourceRedShelf, Barnes & Noble, and Follet, to offer most academic eTextbooks free to students whose classes have moved online.
