Find Articles

Articles may be found in many different places, including databases, reference lists, print materials as well as directly from your professor.The most common way to find journal articles is to search a library database in your subject. The results of your search will give you citations to articles on your topic.

To find the full-text of a journal article you need to have the complete citation:

Article Author, Article Title, Journal Title, Journal Volume Number, Journal Issue Number, Date of Publication, Page Numbers.

Follow the steps below to find the full text of an article with your complete citatation:

E-Journal Finder
Search for online JOURNAL TITLES. If a title is in E-Journal Finder and you are looking for a particular article, use the citation information you wrote down to get to the article you want. JOURNAL TITLE not available online? Search the Mason Libraries Catalog.
Mason Libraries Catalog
If your journal is not available in a database we subscribe to, search the Catalog by JOURNAL TITLE to see if we own a print copy. When necessary, request the print copy housed on another Mason campus through InterCampus Loan Uborrow@Mason.
WRLC/ALADIN Catalog
If your JOURNAL TITLE is not in the Mason Catalog, search the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC) to locate the JOURNAL TITLE. If you find it, you can request the item through the Consortium Loan Service (CLS).
