Geospatial Data Collection at Mason

Geospatial data comes from a variety of sources including federal, state, and local government agencies. The Libraries receive data from the Goverment Printing Office (GPO) as a federal depository library. The Libraries also collect data from commercial vendors such as ESRI(Environmental Systems Research Institute) and Geolytics. The majority of the collection is in CD-ROM/DVD format and located in the government documents unit on the 1st floor, C Wing of Fenwick Library.

Due to licensing restrictions, some data sets are only available for in library use ONLY. More local data sets are made available online through the Libraries Geospatial Web Server (accessible only on campus)
