Take a ESRI's free online campus Course?

1. Create your own account from ESRI Virtual Campus Site
2. Report your log in information and the course name to the campus ESRI's administrator, Na Liu, Manager of the Geography Department Laboratory
3. She will send you a registration code to get into the course.

General GIS Data Consideration

• Are the spatial data in a GIS software format such as shaph file (.shp) or geodatabase (.e00)?
• Does the data have map projection parameters?
• Does the data match the projection of the other data you are working on?
• What is the scale of the spatial data? Does it match your other data?
• Is the metatdata associated with the data (currency, source, etc)
• What are the copyright requirements?
