Tests and Measurements
This page is intended to assist you in locating information about psychological tests and measurements and in locating the tests themselves. Generally, the majority of instruments are published commercially and must be purchased from the publishers. Tests that are not commercially available may be found in books, journal articles, printed reports, or requested from the author.

Tests in Scholarly Literature
Many scholarly articles will provide descriptive content about psychological tests used, but they do not usually include the test itself.
- PsycINFO Use a keyword search that relates to the type of inventory you seek and then add the keyword "appended." This will find instruments that are included in the article appendix.
- PsycArticles From the main search page, enter a keyword or the name of an instrument into the search box. In the adjacent box which reads Select a Field (optional), use the drop down menu to select the field TM Tests & Measures.
- Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI) Health and Psychosocial Instruments provides ready access to information on measurement instruments. Allows for keyword searching. You may also look for a specific test by searching its name and limiting to the Title or Title Index field.
- ERIC ERIC cover US Education literature. To locate articles about tests and measures, try searching on phrases such as screening tests, diagnostic tests, disability identification, etc.
- MEDLINE Premier source of coverage for biomedical literature. Try including keywords such as questionnaire, inventories, scale measure, measurements, survey, and psychometrics.
- CINAHL Covers nursing, allied health, biomedicine, and consumer health journals. In the search box, enter the name of the instrument you seek and then select the field IN Instrumentation from the drop down menu.
